At AFS Conference at Stanford

I’m attending a computer software conference at Stanford University this week. We’re staying at the Stanford Guest House, a totally cool tiny 200-room hotel that is run by and located physically on the campus of Stanford University (well, its actually at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, or SLAC). You can’t stay at the Guest House unless you are affiliated with a Stanford activity.

The hotel is very nice — high speed Internet, nice rooms, great staff. The amusing thing is instead of the standard generic art pictures on the walls of the rooms they have very artsy pics of the science done at the SLAC…pictures of subatomic particles being collided, electron microscope pics, etc. Its very geeky and cool.
